Sourjya Mohanty
Chartered Accountant. Perfumer. Founder of Aurrelis.
Sourjya Mohanty is an accomplished Chartered Accountant and a perfumer trained at SDA Bocconi, Italy. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has spent the last fifteen years devoted to perfumery — learning the craft, working at the perfumer's bench and building fragrances from the raw materials up.
From Europe to the Middle East
His perfumery journey began in Europe, where he trained in the discipline and structure of fine fragrance — balance, concentration, and the patience a great composition demands. He then practised in the Middle East, immersing himself in the world of oud, attars, amber, saffron and rose, and in a culture where fragrance is worn generously, every single day.
Coming home to Mumbai
Bringing both worlds together, Sourjya returned to India and founded Aurrelis in Mumbai — a fragrance house built for Indian skin and Indian weather. Every Aurrelis perfume is an Extrait de Parfum, the most concentrated grade of perfume, made to last 12+ hours through heat, humidity and long days.
His finance background shapes the way Aurrelis is run: honest pricing, transparent policies and no shortcuts on what goes into the bottle. His perfumer's training shapes everything else.
